reviving posting...

I looked at my blog again today and it turns out that my last post was in August of last year.  That’s around the time that the Fall travel season picked up, followed immediately by Thanksgiving and Christmas, so things have been pretty busy for me.  Here are the highlights from my period of radio silence:

  • the annual Seattle trip for “Birthstravaganza,” a joint birthday party for two of my old friends from college
  • New-timers / Old Climbers event with the Chicago Mountaineering Club at Devil’s Lake, WI
  • EuroMPI 2010 in Stuttgart, Germany…
  • … immediately followed by IEEE Cluster 2010 in Crete, Greece
  • one day of sport climbing in Agio Farango, Crete, Greece
  • Heather and I went to Spain for two weeks on vacation in November
  • SC10 in New Orleans, LA
  • hosting Thanksgiving for my parents and siblings at our home for the first time
  • I finished my long-overdue bookcase (no pics yet).

In retrospect I had a ton to blog about but a lack of time and motivation.  I’ll try to put up a few pics and details about some of these items in catch-up posts, but I’m not making any promises.  In the unlikely event that anyone wants details on any particular event, please post a comment to let me know.

In forward-looking news, I’m going ice climbing this weekend at the Ice Pit in Green Bay, WI, which I’m really excited about.  I also was lucky enough to snag tickets to the Chicago Beer Society’s Brewpub Shootout, which is an excellent event.  Lots of great beers that are brewed just for the event, in addition to some amazing food that is served.
